Craig works primarily with video installations, which have been described as 'subtlety autobiographical.' While in Sackville, Craig will be making a series of short videos about and in response to the life and work of the late John Thompson - a poet and professor at Mount Allison whose life was cut short in 1976. Craig's interest in John Thompson comes from the poet's obsession with the Canadian landscape, an obsession Craig shares. He is also interested in how stories of Thompson's 'alcoholism, instability and rugged individualism reinforce the perception of artists as unreliable, lazy and brilliant.' Craig's project on Thompson's life will take him out and about in the Tantramar area, finding personal accounts of Thompson that will make his videos more informed and compelling. Craig is a graduate of the BFA programme at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design.
