Chad van Gaalen graduated from the Alberta College of Art and Design in 2001 and has since been exploring his interest in drawing and sound with dedication. He chronicles his experiences, thoughts, and feelings by continually drawing in his sketchbook and recording even the most common sounds in his environment. Van Gaalen’s practices include performance, live sound experimentation and improvisation, and more recently animation, which has allowed him to combine his interest in sound and drawing into one medium. He has performed at the Alberta College of Art and Design, The Stride Gallery (Calgary), and The Tonight Show With David Letterman.
