RESIDENCIES :

Pam Hall & Margaret Dragu (St. John's and Vancouver)
Open Studio artists in residence
October 4 - 31, 2008.

Struts Gallery & Faucet Media Arts Centre are pleased to announce the arrival of Pam Hall from St. John's Newfoundland, and Margaret Dragu from Vancouver, British Columbia. These two artists will be participating in the Open Studio Artist in Residence program, which is made possible by the New Brunswick Arts Board.

Marginalia is about creating discourse: both between the two artists who have undertaken this committed correspondence, and between audiences who experience the work both virtually and in real-time. Our process engages new technologies and old manual practices to explore the ground between art and life, between one coast and another, between two strangers deciding to "make a relationship". We are, like most Canadians, exploring how it might be possible to forge deep connection, mutual understanding, and complicity across great distance.

And also look at Pam and Margaret's blog, where they will be documenting their residency at Struts! http://strutsgallery.ca/blog_draguhall/

During their residency at Struts, Pam and Margaret ran Yoga classes every day at noon.

In addition to continuing their work with hand made squares, conversations, and wall hangings, they made several new video works.
