Intro to DIY Hands On Electronics

The workshop is a hands-on lab. Participants immediately begin constructing working
electronic circuits. Through a series of small individual and group projects we'll cover:
• how to identify and use electronic parts
• how to read schematics
• electronic construction
• using specialized tools such as the multi-meter, breadboard and soldering iron
You will:
• work with experimental sensors like skin resistance, graphite, light etc.
• learn many different ways to blink a light
• create circuits that produce crazy sounds and noise
• look at artists who use electronics in their work
No previous experience necessary... lots of fun!
Workshop Philosophy:
This workshop is a practical introduction to electronics for artists. No previous
electronics experience is necessary. Technical material is handled with analogies, not
equations. Pattern recognition, an innate artistic capability, is encouraged
