Every summer, Struts puts on a series of bi-weekly members' projects, where any Struts or Faucet member can sign up to use the gallery space however they please! No jurys, no selections, and no regulations! This year there are 25 members taking part in The Living is Easy. Keep checking back for more details about their projects as the dates approach.

Alongside The Living is Easy, Struts will be hosting weekly BBQs out front at 7 Lorne Street, with burgers, veggie burgers, and vegetarian friendly kabobs! FIRST BBQ OF THE SUMMER WILL BE NEXT FRIDAY, JUNE 5 AT NOON!!

This exhibit features a collection of recent paintings and drawings from the spring and summer of 2009. In scenes of cats, dogs, and people, Stephen’s pictures relate to the subject and context of daily life. A central unifying theme of Stephen's show is the colourful and candid combination of works on paper and canvas, providing a palpable sense of energy.

This exhibit includes a range of hand-crafted items, from hand-knit socks to felted purses, comically embroidered pillows, crocheted necklaces, pottery, silkscreened handkerchiefs and very much more. Many of these items are for sale, but they’re already going fast.

presents an installation of video and drawings alongside a sculpture fashioned from a found birdcage.

 

 

Lianne Zannier (Montreal)
presents three sculptural works, each set atop a lazy susan. These pieces encorporate minature pencil crayons, two little bunnies and a mysterious pair of legs, enveloped by two caped figures.

 

 

Amanda Fauteux (Sackville)
presents a collection of frames, dripping with her three-dimensional, stuffed cloth rain drops in various shades of blue.

Three 16mm film projectors running black and white handprocessed loops through a large tree branch. The longer the loops run, the more the branch scratches the filmic images of trees, hands, and feet.

the RCI radio towers meet with a kitchen sink in the middle of the marshes for a series of site specific performances all summer long. This exhibition will present radio-sink itself alongside documentation of the various performances.

A culmination of over a years' worth of scrounging, processing and construction. Wells has transformed part of Struts Gallery into a fanciful sculpture garden, where her latest animated short 'Cutting' will be screening in miniature outside of the newly constructed Rogue Cinema.


Some work from the garden is available for sale.
