Weekly Hands-on Technical Workshops in Media Art Production

An extracurricular school activity organized by Douglas Stewart
Every Wednesday afternoon from 2:45pm - 4:30pm

Students in the Film Club get a chance to work with super 8 film, digital video, audio recording, and post production software.

Throughout the year, they learn by doing... by writing their own film and video scripts, shooting and editing their own projects. At the end of the school year, they present a screening of their brand new body of media art work.

Techniques learned this year include:

Experimental Animation - drawing on 16mm film
Super 8 camera work
super 8 hand processing (bucket style!)
video camera work
digital audio recording
constructing contact mics
basic electronics
video editing
audio editing
experimental video techniques (including feedback loops, colour separation, time remapping, and more!)
electronic music composition (turning test tones into music!)

Throughout the year they also get a chance to view historical examples of film, video, audio, and performance art work.
