"During my residency I will be focusing on making paintings, drawings and sound sculptures accompanied by some sounds tools. I am experimenting with circuit bending and chip tune music (video game music from a game boy) as well as working with a kaossilator accompanied by a monome to sequence different arrangements of the sounds. There are going to be a few performances and talks over this five weeks, some with some good friends of mine (who happen to be artists I think are pretty rad) and an evolving exhibition of my work that will take place in the gallery. Anyone interested is more than welcome to drop by and hang out..... also, I am open to electronic music jams if anyone wants..." people can contact me at james.t.kirkpatrick@gmail.com
As his work has progressed James has found that the figurative characters he began his art practice with have now progressed to the point of abstraction, however in viewing these forms a being of sorts can still be recognizable in many of the apendages.

Collabrative works were created leading up to Pea-Brained Schnauzers. This works included artist-in-residence James Kirkpatrick and guests Marc Bell, Jamie Q and Peter Thompson.
The 24 hours prior to the event involved some creative works that included all four of the artists and it also included some individual works such as Jamie's wall sculptures. Each individual artist spoke of borrowing ideas as well as the continual collabrotations that have occured throughout there each of their careers. The night finished with a really excellent concert.
