Faucet Media Centre aims to facilitate all forms of media art from analogue to digital practices. We have an extensive collection of professional media art equipment and resources and offer ongoing hands-on training, guidance, and mentorship through a number of initiatives:
EQUIPMENT RENTALS & ONGOING TRAINING
Our equipment rates are based on a model of accessibility to encourage artists at all stages of their career. One-on-one training from our production manager is available for those who need it. Members are also able to take advantage of our “volunteer for gear” policy and exchange volunteer hours for use of the equipment. (This program is currently on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic).
MEDIA ART WORKSHOPS LED BY VISITING ARTISTS
Struts promotes the development of artists’ work through a wide ranging suite of media art workshops, facilitated by visiting artists. These workshops are designed for professional artists at all stages of their careers.
TECH TIP TUTORIALS
On-demand video tutorials that walk members through how to use and get the most out of various items in our equipment holdings.
THE ADHOC WORKSHOP SERIES
A series of informal workshops intended to introduce our members to new equipment and resources as our Faucet Media equipment acquisitions and facilities continue to evolve. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this series has been extended to include on-demand recorded workshops.
