How to Build a Fire is an ongoing project by Struts Open Studio Artist, Kerri Flannigan. It stems from recorded phone calls with Kerri’s father, Mike, a fire scientist and has since grown to include recorded conversations with 16 people who work or have a relationship with fire.
Kerri has created a questionnaire in hopes to hear from a larger community about what ideas and questions you have about fire. While some of the questions are specifically about land based fire, others are about fire in general.
There are two ways to answer the questions:
1 ) Online – Please fill out this form: https://airtable.com/shrFlnCJxwIFr3fC7
2) In person – To schedule a 30 minute meeting with Kerri, email admin@strutsgallery.ca with subject line: Burning Questions. Alternately, take a chance and drop by during the following times:
Friday, May 12: 1-5pm
Monday, May 16: 1-5pm
Friday, May 19: 1-5pm
Monday, May 23: 1-5pm
Deadline to submit answers: May 20th, 2023
