Struts Gallery is thrilled to be screening HOME TV I presented by IWant2BeOnTV, a series of video works by Alex Apostolidis. The screening will be followed by a Q&A and artist talk. IWant2BeOnTV is a video project that reimagines pre-streaming era television. HOME TV I creates an earnest yet playful portrayal of queer lifestyles while toying with the performative nature of gender and sexuality, production and labour, identity politics, and comedy as a coping mechanism.

Artist Bio

IWant2BeOnTV is headed by Alex Apostolidis and Charvel Rappos. They host hybrid participatory performance, theatre and concerts that result in video pieces that honour public access cable television with a queer and DIY ethos at the forefront. The works challenge hegemonic power structures through comedy, deviancy and community.
