About The Artist
Bry Simms is a lifelong untrained artist. Bry began painting as a child. In high school he began painting with acrylics on canvas. He began a tattoo career in 2002 that sparked his interest in illustrating and painting watercolour traditional tattoo designs which was his main medium for 2 decades. He spent the first 40 years of life in Southern Ontario then immigrating to The Tantramar region in 2021 with his wife and son. Bry became inspired by the local towns and villages and felt an urge to create art depicting these rural communities. The farms, the rivers, the barns, churches of this area. He illustrated and watercolour painted dozens of vintage themed poster art of local spots like Frosty Hollow, Dorchester Cape, Point De Bute etc. 2025 he decided to step back into painting acrylics and working more with wood. Bry is an emerging artist but has had one small exhibit at the GSN in Moncton with 7-8 of the local watercolour illustrations in 2022. Bry has put single pieces in tattoo themed art shows over his art career. Taking part in roughly 20 art shows but generally one piece being submitted to each show. He now has plans to work towards having yearly art exhibits to showcase his artistic passion for keeping local villages and towns names alive and showcasing the beauty of rural life in Southeast New Brunswick, the fog, the wind and the red earth.
