Karen Trask will be using Struts as her studio space from August 13 to August 25, 2018 and invites the community to come in and visit with her at any time.

“My plan is to work towards creating an installation combining video projections and sculptural elements made during my residency at the Université de Moncton and Mount Allison University over this past year and a half.
The Waves, by Virginia Woolf is the inspiration and starting point for this project. The printed pages of the book along with a selection of dictionaries are transformed into paper threads which are then knotted into fishing net sculptures.
The Waves is considered Woolf’s most experimental and perhaps most loved work. She called it a ‘play-poem’. I am using this idea of a play-poem to create works using the sculptures for performances to be video taped.”
