In this workshop you will make a pile of paintings in acrylic paint on paper that you don’t have to plan or defend. Working spontaneously and intuitively from your imagination you will come up with an assortment of shapes and visual ideas that take inspiration from various prompts and keywords. There will be time to look at each others paintings and to work in a call and response fashion taking inspiration directly from one another.
You will work both collaboratively and independently. It’s a time dedicated to explore painting without getting precious about it. It will be a focused and active four hours so come prepared to make a lot of unedited and unexpected imagery.
All materials will be provided.
Workshop will be lead by Madeleine Mayo, Open Studio Artist-in-Residence.
Space is limited, please register in advance by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or call (506) 536-1211
