Novemnber 9 - 23rd, 2025 "Carrying Continuance is a collaborative project born of a desire to reconnect with the earth. The photos and baskets are an exploration of our relationship with the spaces that people and plants share. Seeking out strange urban spaces, the project aims to bring attention to the unnoticed natural fibers in urban settings. The baskets serve as mini-monuments to these neglected locations and to our history as people and women who work with fibers. We continue traditions to show that those ways of living are not inaccessible today. Our environment is rich with materials and through making we gain greater respect for our surroundings and our ancient ancestors. This project echoes the sentiment of Ursula K. Le Guin’s Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction; that the story of humans and baskets has the power to ground us in human culture in meaningful way."
