We are pleased to announce Please Leave the Sand at the Beach, a new exhibition presented by START Gallery. The exhibition is open to the public April 12th to 23rd, Tuesday to Saturday, 10-5.
Please Leave the Sand at the Beach draws inspiration from the patterns, figures, and scenes from the artist’s summers spent on the beaches of the East Coast. The paintings and installation re-create a playful environment using both collected and fabricated gear and scenery.
ELLA CHRISTISON
Ella Christison (she/her) is a painter and printmaker living and learning in Sackville, New Brunswick. She is working towards her Bachelor of Fine arts at Mount Allison University. Her interest in quotidian textiles, such as beach blankets and favourite dresses, influences her works on paper and canvas as she explores patterns and textures through these mediums. Using photographs of friends and family as reference material, her works draw upon everyday objects and textiles and the memories they may carry.
