Ever want to make your own video art but didn’t know how? Want to film some videos in silly costumes and share them with the world? Well, this new workshop series is for you!
Through our new workshop series led by Production Manager Lucas Morneau, participants will learn how to create and edit green screen footage and learn how to film simple video performances without assistants or a crew. Participants will learn how to elevate their filmmaking experience from using phones to using professional video gear.

Workshop | Green Screen Costume Party: A Chroma Key Workshop
November 1st, 2025 – 3PM – 5PM

Bring your costumes, we’re having a green screen party! In this interactive workshop, participants will learn how to set up and film green screen video, and how to properly light green screens. Come take your spot in front of the camera – participants will all get a turn to film in front of the greens screen.
Workshop | Dancing on My Own: Filming Video Performance
November 8th, 2025 – 1PM – 3PM
Registration: $10 for members | $25 for non-members
In this workshop, participants will learn how to set up and shoot video performances without the help of assistants or camera operators. Participants will learn about best practices for lighting, audio, video, and location. Participants will be able to demo equipment at the end of the workshop.
After this workshop, participants are encouraged to film their own video performances over the next two weeks using Struts’ gear, available at discounted rates for workshop participants*
Workshop | Editing Green Screen Footage with Davinci Resolve
November 29th, 2025 – 1PM – 3PM
Registration: $10 for members | $25 for non-members
Wrapping up our Video Performance Workshop series, participants will learn how to edit green screen footage using DaVinci Resolve, a powerful free video editing software. Using chroma key filters, participants will introduce found footage, stock images, and constructed backgrounds to create new video artworks.
